Nice publishes the 2022 Sustainability Report, confirming its commitment to building a better future

October 2023 - Sustainability News

Nice’s second Sustainability Report tracks the important accomplishments toward its 2025 goals in the Governance, Environment, Product and Social areas.

Oderzo (Italy), October 25, 2023 Nice, a global leader in Home Management Solutions, has released the second edition of its Sustainability Report — “Welcome to the Nice Future”, which underscores the pivotal role of sustainability in its vision and provides an update about the cultural evolution which took place in 2022 within its global operations.

In line with Nice's mission, the Sustainability Report gathers important information on how the company addresses and improves the Group's strategy in four focus areas: Governance, Environment, Product and Social. Nice has structured its sustainability goals from a UN Agenda 2030 for Sustainable Development perspective, identifying the SDGs to which it may contribute most significantly based on its sector and the topics identified. In 2022, Nice evaluated the global industry impact with the aim of using this data as a benchmark to improve its daily practices and set even more ambitious goals.

"The goal of improving people's quality of life is reflected in our ESG efforts globally. The link between Energy, Services and Ecosystems is the future of the Smart Home and the cornerstone of our NiceLoveEarth program. We embrace continuous improvement and innovation to provide sustainable products to our customers, being aware that the home management solutions impact all ESG pillars”, adds Marco Bianchet, Global Quality & Sustainability Director of Nice.

Nice’s main Governance results

With the aim of strengthening the ESG strategy and ensuring its implementation throughout the Group, since 2021 Nice has had a Sustainability Committee, composed of function heads, and a global ESG Operational Team.

The adoption of Management Systems enables continuous monitoring of performance indicators; therefore, in 2022 Nice obtained ISO14001 Environmental Management System certification for the Headquarters and has developed a roadmap to obtain it in all production facilities by 2025.

Nice’s main Environment results

Nice set ambitious targets for carbon footprint reduction by 2030, with the intention of reaching Net Zero by 2050. The first milestone in 2025 is to reduce Scope 1 emissions by 30%, reduce Scope 2 emissions by 80%, and reduce Scope 3 emissions by 10%. A key focus area is energy efficiency. Last year Nice reported 58% increase in certified green energy consumption reaching 33% of total consumption of total consumption: another step in the broader journey to achieve energy self-sufficiency or 100% renewable energy with guarantee of origin by 2025.

Nice’s main Product results

Sustainability for Nice goes first of all through the design of solutions with low environmental impact following the eco-design principles summarized in the Nice Green Innovation approach, which includes the use of regenerated or recycled materials, energy efficiency – especially for the standby phase − the adoption of solar panels as power source, the extension of product life by ensuring repairability and transparency of the impact of the entire life cycle through environmental declarations. With regard to this final point, last year the company achieved an important recognition: process EPD certification, which enabled it to increase the number of products marked by the environmental declaration.

Nice’s main Social results

In 2022 Nice had more than 2,700 employees globally, with a 11% growth in the hiring rate compared to the previous year. The company aims to continue to strengthen diversity and inclusiveness in its organization within 2025 increasing the number of women in leadership positions by 30 percent and further reducing the gender pay gap, achieving equal pay certification.
